چکیده

This paper presents the numerical simulation of an efficient ammonia-water single-stage absorption chiller integrating a new combined desorber, able to produce and purify refrigerant vapor. An experimental campaign was conducted on pilot plant by varying main operating parameters, namely temperatures external sources mass flow rate working fluid. Direct measures were analyzed indirect calculation other physical quantities used for tuning models. First, simplified model cycle developed, based fixed effectiveness pinch temperatures. Absolute values tendencies outside nominal conditions not sufficiently accurate predict performance even at small scale, so more modeling undertaken. Accordingly, components characterized effectiveness, modeled using three parameters: Jakob number (Ja), transfer units (NTU) energetic ratio (Ren). The average errors calculated confirm that these parameters are well suited application studied. Global results showed compared below 6% COP 15% cooling power output. tuned perform parametric analysis dimension components, highlighting improvements/reductions obtainable increasing/decreasing their size. use dimensionless makes this approach larger scales industrial interest, development complex or cycles as techno-economic exergo-economic analysis.

Dynamic simulation of an ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system

A dynamic model of a single-effect absorption refrigeration cycle has been developed. Modeling of the cycle performance requires thermodynamic properties which are obtained from equations of state for refrigerant-absorbent mixtures. The transient response of the absorption refrigeration cycle is investigated using mass, momentum and energy balances for the different parts of the system. Some de...

Integration of an Ammonia-water Absorption Refrigeration System with a Marine Diesel Engine: A Thermodynamic Study

This paper examines through a thermodynamic analysis the feasibility of using waste heat from marine Diesel engines to drive an ammonia-water absorption refrigeration system. An energy balance of a diesel engine shows that sufficient waste heat is provided. The results illustrate that higher performance of the system is obtained at high generator and evaporator temperatures and also at low cond...
